My Chevelle's A Pillars have been cut in the center between the roof and cowl, and when they were welded back there kinda at an offset angle.Any ideas as to how to get them realigned and welded,or should i cut them out completly and weld in ones from another chevelle.

First off nice to see another chevelle fan from Danville. On your question, your probably better off getting new pillars. It would be very difficult to get them straight.

Are we talking about the same pillars here.Im talking about the metal pillars that connect the roof to the cowl, part of the body, not the interior pillar covers. If so ,how do you reccomend getting the metal pillars in straight.

First off, what and the heck is the reason they were cut? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif

Second, if you were to cut the welds with a cut off wheel on a die grinder you could pull them a part a little and insert a peice of metal into the piller to help align it and it would be much stronger.

You can align it, it is just like doing a top chop, you just won't be cutting any piller away.

The body was cut at the pillars and in the middle of the floor pan.I'm guessing the car was in a wreck and the rear was damaged. The front half is SS and the rear half is Malibu.Whoever put the two together did a decent job at covering it up,but the aligning of the pillars is a little messy.

Well if you want pillars, my malibu 4 door is being parted out so once the bulk of the stuff is gone its just a shell.

On 67 chevelle the pillars unscrew. No welds at all just replace them. The four door pillars won't work unless you cut the top off.
