: New floor sheetmetal product from Goodmark
BillsCamino Jan 10th, 06, 4:36 PM I just got off the phone with the Goodmark Installation Facility up in Cleveland, GA.
I'm having the floor and trunk pan replaced in my '72 Malibu convert. Some areas are weak and two other spots have been previously patched (poorly).
Anyhow...the Goodmark people tell me they have a new product available within the next month or so.
A complete, one piece, FULL floorpan which includes rear seat area, all the body braces AND inner rockers...all in one unit. Installs from the bottom and requires engine/tranny to be removed and body to be unbolted from the frame. Obviously, the perfect time to change body mount bushings too.
He didn't specify the exact application, but considering it will work in my car, I'm assuming this new item fits 68-72 coupes and converts.
I'm not a body guy but sounds like a good solution to me.
Got an appointment for the week of Mar 22th...opinions??
quikss Jan 10th, 06, 4:45 PM I recently saw it for sale on www.cpucarparts.com
If I remember right it was about $700-$800 for it. Not a bad price considering you are replacing everything in one shot.
Heres a picture from the website I stated above:

Floor pan complete 1 pc with rockers, and under rear seat pan, 68-72 Chevelle, GTO, Cutlass, Skylark

This floor is the largest yet. It comes with all floor braces, front, middle, and rear. And this floor has the full OE style rockers on both sides, including the under rear seat pan.

quikss Jan 10th, 06, 4:50 PM By the way, I have found that CPU musclecar parts is a pretty decently priced Goodmark distributor, they are about 40 minutes or so west of Chicago. Their shipping prices are excellent.
I recently bought all the metal for my floors from them, cheaper than any other place I looked, and I did a lot of searching.

Dave Jan 10th, 06, 5:03 PM That's gonna be a godsend for some guy's.
BillsCamino Jan 10th, 06, 5:07 PM Thanks Jeff.
Yeah, that looks exactly like what was described to me. About the same pricing, too. I don't think it's quite available yet...they were just finalizing the proto type fitment today at the shop. That's also why the 2 month delay in getting my car into this shop, I'm assuming.
I appriciate the vendor tip but this is Goodmark's Installation Facility...they're doing the complete install and only about an hour's drive from here.

My thought's exactly!
Gotta be hard to get a section this large mis-located and installed incorrectly by an inexperienced do-it-yourselfer.

Oh I figured you were taking yours directly to goodmark.
I just figured if anyone else is looking for a good price on sheetmetal or for that matter most other parts for their chevelles, its a good site to look at. Usually at least a few dollars savings. And we all know, a few dollars on each part adds up to a lot of money on these cars.

Smoke65 Jan 10th, 06, 6:58 PM I wonder if they will do the same for 64-65-66 & 7's. That would be a lot easier for me.
Randy Mosier Jan 10th, 06, 11:35 PM Full bodies can't be far behind. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Ummm...not exactly.
The Goodmark one piece floorpan is different. I saw the actual proto type about 1 1/2 months ago. They were still tweaking it...

I'll be the first in line with credit card in hand. :) I'm also hoping for a full tube chassis at some point that's bolt it without major mods...
Then I'll be a happy camper!
newmexguy Mar 5th, 06, 2:04 AM Rust free chevelles? they are still down here in new mexico!!
FYI - The most recent Super Chevy has an article on Dynacorn's full 67 and 69 Camero bodies and they say they are going to do a 70 to 72 Chevelle full body next.
Bixby_chevelle Mar 5th, 06, 5:59 PM im looking at this cpu web site and see these NEW Factory style import quarter panels for $379.00 and then I browse a little and find these Quarter panel Factory tooling one's for $570.00.

350_Malibu Mar 5th, 06, 10:53 PM Found this on the Dynacorn FAQ's Site. Looks like it's to be convertible only.
Question :
hi i was wandering do you all have plans to do any chevelle bodies???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer :
Yes we do, but not for a while yet. Then it will be the 70-72 convertible.
