I'm not a machinist, not even an assembler. I'm having a 400sbc built for a Blazer which is my daily driver. Its a pump gas motor with a roller compcam 268 cam.

What is everyone's opinion of the Stage II Scat rotating assemblies they are selling? Cast crank, mid grade 5.7 capp'd rods, KB pistons 10:1....

Any good alternatives out there? The above combo is about $900. Am I missing out on any major benefits?
