: Empty nesting again, tomorrow
NOZ34ME Jan 7th, 06, 8:57 PM It was great during Christmas; had one daughter back from school in Roanoke, one daughter back from "Girls Incorporated" in Denver, and my son was home from JMU in Harrisonburg.
Girls went back last weekend; Chris goes back tomorrow.
While there are the obvious advantages to being home alone with the wife, I find I really miss the loud house and the interactions when they're gone.
Anybody else's kids all gone?

Sounds like you're not too far away from the grandchildren years. It's the best of both worlds assuming the kids settle down close................. part time kids at home usually as much as you want, and you can send em back when you want some peace and quiet.

Oh, now, there's no need to get nasty! ;):D
I'm still in the process of filling the house up, but I was wondering what that will be like some day. Do you guys sit back sometimes and just enjoy the fact that you survived it?
I'm looking forward to that (but trying to enjoy every minute of this as well) :)

Both my kids have been gone for years. Both are married with their own kids.

Want to borrow my 3 year old daughter and all her noise makers for a week or two? It you don't think one is enough I'm sure I can talk my brother into letting you borrow one or two of his in addition. After a week or two you might start thinking the empty nest is a good thing!
Seriously, I wouldn't trade my daughter for all the Yenko cars ever made! Well that might be pushing it!:D
jeffc Jan 8th, 06, 3:02 PM Mine are 4 and 5. Are you trying to rub it in or something!! :D :D
I do my best to enjoy it, but they keep touching each other. "Dad, brother is touching me! Sissy touched me first!" :D :D

There's certainly good points about being home with no kids. Besides the obvious ones, there's flexibility with meals, able to walk around with little or no clothes on; you can "pick up and go" when you like; vacations aren't limited to summer months.
The down sides are all emotional.
Just got back from dropping off Chris. I'm a pansy I guess, but it affects me every time.
