I'm getting ready to paint a 70 2dr hardtop, and will be painting all the jambs, underside of trunk etc. I will be using PPG 2001 base/clear, and the fellow at the paint store recommended 1.5 gal of color, 3 gal of clear, 3 gal of reducer, 2 qts hardner, and 1 qt of black color for the stripes. This sounds like a lot of material. I want to do it right, and was wondering if anyone out there has done this recently that might tell me how much they used.

I would stick with the 1.5 gallons of color, you will not use it all but it is noce ot have some of the paint for ...God for bid, an accident. And I think two gallons of clear would be more than enough. One gallon would be plenty for just the out side and anout two or three quarts for the jams.
