guys im thinking of going with a mini starter on my newly rebuilt 396 im haveing trouble cranking when the engine gets hot i found this one on ebay
will this work with my application thnks for all the help, also it says its for a 168 tooth flywheel i have no idea what mine is i just did a SB to BB swap and reused my same flywheel also i am running a 10 inch clutch how in the world can i find out what tooth mine is without pulling the tranny thanks

My 67 BB wouldn't crank when hot either so I added a bolt on heat shield and made sure my timing was right. No more problem. On the fly wheel you could get under the car, mark one tooth and start counting. It's probably a 168 tooth.

Solved my problem on '67 with heat shield wraped on the starter. Have had no problems since. 454 with headers was tough to crank before, easy now. Jb
