I'll soon be replacing the tires on my70' El Camino. How do these compare among themselves? Dunlop GT Qualifers, Yokohama Avid S/T, Cooper Cobras, ... and the highly used BFG T/A. All of these offer the size(s) I need. in a 15" wheel. Any one of these provide a better "stick" for off the line" traction? If there are others I should consider,.. please suggest. I curently have 10 year old Dunlop Qualifier G/T's, with lots of tread, .... but no longer trust their integrity, due to age. Appreciate all opinions. Thanks

I replaced my BFGoodrich tires with the Yokohama Avid S/T, and my personal opinion is the Yokohama is a better tire. I even like the tread pattern better. If you go to www.tirerack.com , you can search different tire brands and see which one got better ratings from people.

I've got Firestone Firehawk SS 20"s and I'm very pleased with them. Great traction, ride, and treadlife. I've never had them balanced, just rotated, and they are just as smooth as when new. I think the Firehawks are now the Indy 500 and those get good reviews at Tirerack. I've had T/A radial and Eagle ST over the life of the car and the Firehawk's are a much better tire.
