I'm restoring a '66 Malibu 2dr hardtop and I'm having trouble finding (? what I believe was the original?) "3 thin ribs on top & smooth to bottom type" rocker trim- All the resto catalogs I've used (Paddock, NPD, OPG, bowtie...) only seem to carry the "fully ribbed SuperSport" style for '66. They do however show my type trim listed as '65 specific- would these fit my '66? I'm sure I've seen many a "non-SuperSport '66" with this type rocker trim! I've had one member assure me (thanks Wayne!) the '65 trim will fit fine, but hoped I could get a few more confirmations from someone who has actually used the '65 trim on a '66, from one of the fore-mentioned resto outfits before I go ahead and phone my order in- Thanks...

I've seen a pair of NOS 66 Malibu Rocker moldings for $400.00. The best bet would be to find a decent used set, have the anodize stripped off, and have the moldings straightened and polished. You can then have them bright dipped and re-anodized. You have to make sure the place that bright dips them and re-anodizes them have a big enougth tank to do the entire molding at one time. You don't want one end dipped and then the other end, you would see a line in the middle.
