Anybody know what color the gas tank should be on my 66 SS? Also the tank straps?
Thanks in advance.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the gas tank should be natural steel color and the straps GM semi-gloss black.

If the steel color is correct, anyone know where to get the correct paint for this. Hopefully in a spray can.
I want to do it right the first time.
Thanks.

Eastwood has a very fine gas tank spray paint with a zinc coating. It doesn't look exactly like a bare new tank.
You might also consider having the tank sandblasted, then put a clear finish on it. However, spilled fuel will probably eat the clear.

I believe the tanks were originally Zinc plated. The stuff Eastwood sells is a bit dark, but acceptible. It is called "Tank Tone" The straps are plated zinc also.
