Talked to Eric at Competition Products this afternoon. For $169.95 I get:

Elgin stainless steel intake and exhaust valves

1.480 diameter valvesprings; 110 lbs. seat/ 345 lbs. open @1.880 installed height, 1.320 coil bind

Molly retainers/ 7degree hardened locks/valve seals

I spin the 468 to about 6500 {sometimes more on an 'oops'} rpm

Any good, or should I buy Summit's Trick Flows on sale and piece the rest together at Summit?

All opinions most welcome.

I've been running the same spring pressures ( 115/340) with lightweight Ferrea valves to 7000 and beyond. You're limited to mid lift with those springs, and if they are the 502 takeout type springs some say don't trust them too much. ( I thought about picking up a set and was advised against by a few gurus here.)

I have a set of those $100 valves, but frankly,they're bought for a low 5300-5500 peak rpm motor down the road. I would not run them to 7200 or even 6500 daily.

If you are being conservative on your 6500 and estimating peak rpm high, I'd say ok. If you're shifting at 6500-6600 rpm and rapping on 7000, I'd say not. For a low rpm street rat, it's a heckuva deal.

IMHO, of course.

Yeah, I may need to spend a bit more. He did say they were 502 HO style, so thanks for the warning. {What could possibly be wrong with them?}
