: e coat disaster!
sportfuryiii Jan 1st, 06, 2:08 PM Before you get your car acid dipped and e-coated e mail me to see what people who think they know what there doing can do to your investment. My car had been in the family for years and was 100% solid. The e-coating people at redi-coat lifted my car with straps from the roof and squished the roof, also ran into it with a forklift. When I went to pick it up and expressed my anger, the owner threatened to sell my car on e bay if I didn't pay with cash. So since I have so much invested I paid but I've made it my goal to try to save someone the headaches I've gone through and put out the word on these nice folks. I will be posting before and after pictures shortley. Stay Tuned. If anyone knows how to insert pictures please advise. Thanks.
Ummm, demanding cash payment after causing damage?????
Any record of their service? Did you get a receipt?
Do you have before and after photos? Sounds like small claims court is the way to go. $5000 limit, $40 claim fee, but no attorney fees.
Sounds like the damage was caused from mis-handling.
Keep us posted.
I would've gotten my camera, taken pics, paid cash and then consulted with my/a lawyer and called the consumer protection rep at the local TV station, but thats just me.
MARTINSR Jan 1st, 06, 3:51 PM To post photos you can click on the "Post reply" button at the top of the thread, do not click the "quick reply" button under the post.
After you get the reply window, scroll down to the "Manage Attachments" button and click on it.
Click on the "Browse" button.
Choose a file from your computer and open it.
Click on the "Upload" button.
After it uploads click on the "Close this window" button.
That photo will appear on your post just as the one of me below when I was still cute. :)
The photo can then be clicked on to enlarge it.
Or you can use a web space where the photo is stored. Copy and paste the URL to that photo and put a on the front end of the url and on the back end, your photo will appear in the post.
I am really sorry to hear about your bad experiance, that just plan sucks. Post those photos so we can see how to fix it. But I have to tell you, you really want to get a few estimates from shops before you touch it for your court case. And yes, I think you need to sue them for the damages.

Alwhite00 Jan 1st, 06, 6:41 PM Don't see the "manage attachments" button. Do you have to be a member to post pics this way? I didn't think you could do pics that way on this site.

Texas70 Jan 1st, 06, 11:13 PM Wow, I would definitely gather as much evidence as I could and take this guy to court. This jerk needs to be taught a lesson one way or another.

Redmanf1 Jan 3rd, 06, 10:54 AM This bums me out as I was going to take my hood, fenders, doors, inners, core support and trunk lid. I do not want to do a full body off or I would have taken my body there. Here are the pic’s that you sent me.

MedicTed Jan 3rd, 06, 11:48 AM Definitely a law suit there.
Redmanf1 Jan 3rd, 06, 12:15 PM It looks like there was a duster there was it also damaged? It looks like it turned out nice if it was not for the damage.
I don't know if it's me, but the damage is kinda hard to see.
Is it just dents or is the roof squished?
How where they supposed to remove it from the dip solution?
Beaux Jan 4th, 06, 3:29 PM I dont see what this has to do with the ecoating process. Things like this can happen at any shop that doesnt pay attention and does shotty work (mechanical, body, detail, whatever)
It wasnt the eCoat process that drove a forklift into your car and caused the other damage.
i would have kicked his ass... but, thats just me

I'd like to see how he could sell your car with the title still in your name. He'd have to go to court and get a lien placed on it first, or all you would have to do is put in a police report for a stolen vehicle and whoever bought it would be in serious trouble. Sounds like he was puffing hot air to me but with all that animosity built up I would be hard pressed to leave my car in his custody and risk having more damage done to it. After all, that damage was done when you were supposedly a good paying customer. Imagine what would be done if he thought of you as a deadbeat!
If I were you I would contact him first, via telephone and then follow up with a letter summarizing the phone conversation, or just by letter if he won't take your calls, and tell him that you require that he compensate you for the damage done to your vehicle. Also state that you will give him a reasonable amount of time to reply, say two weeks, after which time you will turn the matter over to an attorney. When I deal with jerks like this, my rule is I will attempt to settle this between the two of us like gentlemen for a fair settlement, but if I have to get an attorney involved because you are trying to screw me, I am going to soak you for as much as I can get. I usually get what I want in the end.
68protouring454 Jan 5th, 06, 4:53 PM dude, no **** its not the e coat process, thats the place where it happend, pffff wake up
