question I have is I found a guy whos got a 4 speed set up out of a 67 chevelle. he's not too sure what it is but he's going to get me the casting numbers so I can find out weather its a wide ratio or a close ratio. For that matter weather its a muncie or a saginaw.
anyway the car has a 273 12 bolt in it now, if its a wide ratio, the 273 can stay right? if close ratio, Ive got a 331 rear, will that work? car has a truck 454 mild cam headers.
also the headers are house brand summit headers 9010? 1 3/4" will I have linkage clearance issues with this header? thanks for the input. Jim

The 2.73s will have to go, even if it is a Muncie wide ratio.

Jim are you aware that the pedals and linkage from the 67 won't work in your 70?

Hi Phil, the guy just has a tranny,clutch,vetigate shifter,flywheel,bell housing,Im going to have to locate the clutch pedal assy, I have the 4 speed top plate for my console, I was just worried about the headers, if I have to buy new headers I'll probably stick with the turbo 400. But I think a 4 speed would be fun.
I don't mind swapping rears, mainly because I already have another, I just hate to have to go buy another set of headers and hope it fits my pipes I just installed. Jim
