: Coating inside rear wheelhouses?

My 72 has a bunch of "stuff" coating the inside of the inner rear wheelhouses. Looks kinda like dried on mud, and it's cracked and flaking off. May be some kind of undercoating or rustproofing.

My body shop guy is grinding it all off, and filling/patching the rust that was underneath this stuff.

Question is, what should I paint or coat the wheelhouses with?

We use "bedliner" coating on the underside of our streetrod fenders. Prevents the 'shiny' side from star cracks in the paint.

I used the POR15 paint on my 66 but am going to use the sprayon bed liner tinted to body color to do my Elky
