I dunno. Properly welded in patch panels shouldn't need seam sealer. They should have been continuously welded; therefore, no seam to seal.

I always seal all joints on floors and the inside of all panels with seam sealer. It may be redundant for a perfect weld job but it doesn't hurt any joint that may be exposed to water/dirt etc. It maynot be "restoration correct" but the manufacturer also sealed a lot of areas around the floor with seam sealer.

In this case you posted in an earlier post that you were over lapping a joint in your pans. This means you have the chance that water may get into the lap joint if you do not seal it both under and inside the car and you have any small gaps or cracks where your welds are not 100%. I also noted that you said you were using an arc welder to do the welding. I've arc and mig welded for years as a hobbiest and wouldn't trust my arc welding of sheet metal floor pans to be 100%. In fact, you're a lot braver than me because I wouldn't attempt to arc weld floor pans.

The best product that I have used is a 3m product that comes in a light brown tube. I'd have to look in the garage at home to get you the exact name.

The seams on the floor were lap joint with seam sealer from the factory. I have been using UPOL Tiger Seal lately. Its a urethane seam sealer/adhesive and is much stonger than regular old seam sealer. But you could use 3m brushable seam sealer, thats pretty good also.

I plan on spot/stitch welding the pan in and then depend on the seam sealer for moisture protection. I will also be coating the whole surface when done with POR-15. Does that sound like a good plan. I am using 5/64 sticks at 60 amps in my welder. Did you get the name of that seam sealer ?
Thanks

John
