i'm thinking of removing the front clip and pulling the engine on my 69 chevelle. basically for some engine updates and i'd like to smooth the firewall as much as i can.
is removing the front clip a monster job?

IMO, if you have help removing the front clip as a whole, its easier than piece by piece. its pretty simple. on the 69's
disconnect wiring. I do it at the fuse block junction.
disconnect radiator
If you have a/c there is a couple hoses to condenser, also hose to compressor is clamped on passenger fender.
disconnect windshield washer hoses
remove battery and disconnect ground strap from passenger fender.
2 bolts holding fender to door jamb
4 bolts fender to cowl
4 bottom fender to cowl bolts
4 wheel well to cowl bolts
2 core support bolts
provided you've removed the bumper your ready to pop that baby off.

Make sure you mark where all the fender shims go otherwise it won't line up right when you reinstall it.

The only thing I had help with was the hood.:) I taped all edges, took my time and documented everything with photos backed up by a notebook.
