Do the 70 - 72 Chevelles and 70 - 72 Monte Carlos use the same rear glass? If so, it would stand to reason that the surrounding sheetmetal is similar enough to use to repair some rust around the back glass of my 71 Malibu. I found an early Monte that must have been garaged most of its life because it has no rust around the back glass channel. If the channels are the same, I might take a cue from 72SSelcamino and pay visit to the wrecking yeard where the car is located with my own trusty sawzall!
According to my Chevrolet interchange book, 70 Chevelle sedan or hard top exchanges with 68-72 Chevelle, 69-70 Pontiac GP, 70-72 Monte.
Those Montes are real parts gold mines, look for rear defrost, disc brakes, dash, buckets, consoles, trunk lid, front suspensions, a/c, brackets, chevy rears.

Randy, just a little heads up. I don't know if you plan on using a cordless one or not, but a guy thats sells them told me the batteries won't last long enough to do the job. I borrowed a generator from a freind. Glad I tried it first. It was too small to run my big tool. Got one from another freind and it worked like a champ. Make sure to take plenty of blades for when you hit something and bend the grap out of them. If you wear a pair of gloves(for the heat) you can straighten them out somewhat and keep on going. Hope this helps, Cal

Ideally, I'd rather use a cutoff wheel on a die grinder, but there's no compressed air source nearby. I was wondering about the cordless saws, but the battery life was a concern. Thanks for the heads up.
