Is this a 3.75" stroke 4.00" bore engine or is it a 3.48" stroke 4.155" bore engine. What rod length? What rpm range?

Re: 377 Combo Help

My first thought would be install it 3 more degees advanced(106 icl) with compression being on low side for that duration!! What does cam card say as where to install?? happy holidays, AL

What kinda car is this going into?
Sounds very close to my combo, only i have the race rites and they are opened up to 220cc's and i had 2.08 valves installed, and you have more cam than me. Hopefully the car that its going into is light, and has some gear. Its a fun motor in a light car with 4.56's :)

I would run it as you have it set. Then pull the covers and tighten the exhaust lash .002" and see if it doesnt' pick up some. When it does I would tighten the exhaust another .002". After you have done this and like it, then I would pull the front cover off and put the intake on a 104. This will put some DCR in her. After that put a set of 1.6's on intake.

Ill have to check P to V again I think the INT had plenty but the exhaust was tight . Do you think I can Make 500 Hp Im hoping for 11.50 in the 1/4

Car is a little heavy around 3550 with me in it///// The Tremec has a 3 something 1st gear

PS The cam specs are at 106 on the cam card

It should make 500HP. Why I told you what I did is the I/E ratio on those is in the 67% range so you could do with a little more exhaust duration. Tightning it up will achieve this. Advancing the cam to a 104 will put some dynamic compression in it and help "fool" the engine into thinking it has more "umph". The 1.6 ratio to help pack the air in quicker.
Lift is the ability to make power, duration is the ability to sustain it at rpm.

Tire size will determine how aggressive you can be with our launch. Although a heavy car and hard launches will lead to wallet reduction.

Why did you open RaceRaites up to 220cc???

The brodix dealer my builder goes through told him that the race rites opened up to 220cc's are better then buying the track 1's. I dont have proof in this...i never got them flowed.

Getting heads "opened up" with out comparative flow testing is a crap shoot at best, and performance and wallet reamer at worst. Flow testing is available for about $100. You can't spend money better. No one should let anybody without a few years experience, a flow bench, and an excellent reputation come anywhere near their heads. Doing otherwise is simply believeing in magic!

Sorry real Z, people tend to hijack posts here. The car put out 410 at the wheels on a dyno that was not working correctly. I was going to get it dyno'd again, but never got around to it. My builders been building for over 35 years...i trust him.

410 hp at the wheels and only 108 mph in a 3100# car? I'll have to agree that the dyno wasn't working. How many horses would it take to run a 3475# car to 117 in the quarter?

I havent had my car at the track yet with the race rites...that time was with junk stock heads back in 04 i think it was. I just got the race rites on last march/april....I'll try to get it there this summer i hope....
