Anyone here work with Corian? I have a corian backsplash and counter top. I'm replacing the cabinets but keeping the countertop. On my backplash it seems like glue lines are showing, what can I do to get rid of them, Orbital with 220? Rubbing compound? Wet sand? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never worked on it, but I have a friend who is a fabricator. You can sand & polish it out just like paint, start out coarse & move to finer grits..
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in..

Yes please.... I'm still pulling down the old cabinets, I won't probably be putting the counter top back on till tomorrow or sunday.

If you are saying the glue (lines) have bled through from the back side, then you can sand/buff all day long and not remove the stain(s). I myself have never seen this happen to corian. Are you sure its corian?? I don't work with it that much any more, but have in the past.

It's not really on the counter top, it's on the backspash. What can I do to refurbish the top and make it look a little newer?

I work with Corian all day long . When you say glue lines, do you mean where the pieces are spliced together ? Minor discolorations can be taken care of with some 75 grit paper . Bart is right on the stain part , if has bled through, its not going anywhere . Have yet to see that happen myself, but it does happen to a few cheaper types of material . If it just needs a little freshening, you can use the orbital and do some wet sanding with 125 to 400 grit and it should polish it up very well. But be prepared for the mess .

Are you refering to glue lines from a tile backsplash on the top of the corion splash??

One part of my backsplash, it looks like they seemed extra material together, it's in the corner and not really visible but I know it's there.
I'd just like to freshen it up mainly. Can I set the wife loose with an orbital buffer and some 3M polishing compound?
I think the discoloration I am seeing is cheap caulk they used when they built my kitchen.
