when the car is cold should the choke flap be closed or open? and when the car heats up does the coil condense or expand? i guess im asking how it works. i got a new carb and i didnt pay attention to how my old carb was set up before i uninstalled it.

The flap should be closed. As the car warms up, it expands the coil (spring) and opens the choke...
