How much clearance or I call slop should there be with a 12 bolt C clip rear?
I purchased a rear drum to drum and I am not shore how much end play there should be when grabbing the axles by the wheel studs and pulling on them and then pushing them back toward the housing itself. At present there is about 10 thousands of play. Is that correct?

Axial play of .010" would seem good to me, as the c-clip is about 10 times that thickness.

You need some but I don't think .010 is to much. You could have a lot more and it would still work because the pin hold the axles in place and prevents the C-clip from letting the axles release.

.010 is very good. They get a lot worse than that before causing any problems.
