I was watching the news earlier and it looks like Mustang is burning to the ground. Hope your doing OK over there.

According to the news, this started with some kids playing with fireworks :sad: We had the same thing happen just the weekend before christmas...kids trespassed over into the neighbors pasture and set the damn place on fire...fortunately there was very little wind so I was able to get it all put out by myself.

Fortunately, the fires were finally under control before they got to our house. But when the fire jumped the hiway and started moving toward our house that was about 2 blocks away. Then it started getting kind of scarry! I haven't been out yet today to survey the damage, according to the news last night there were 5-6 houses burned to the ground and I think we know a couple of the owners. All of my neighbors and I were out all afternoon yesterday with our water hoses, for whatever good we could do!

we're hearing over fifty homes in the area were damaged. glad to hear your o.k. we are no stranger to fires around here, and know the urgency, that can quickly sneak up on you. hope the fire is controled soon.

I got out a couple of hours ago and drove around the burned area. Some small fire trucks are roaming the burned area puting out small hot spots. The utility repair trucks are out repairing downed lines and poles and the TV news vans are going around surveying the burned homes and talking to the people. I guess little ole Mustang made the big news!

Two blocks away? Whew! With something of that magnitude being so close I'd have been pretty nervous! I'm breathing a sigh of relief for you...

We have to get rain, and soon! They said this year is the dryest since 1956. The mid fifties saw some of the worst droughts on record. It looks like everything around here is turning into desert.
