What is the biggest tire (height and width) that will fit on the rear of my 69 chevelle? I want to fill as much of those wheel wells in the back as possible without rubbing.

I'm currently running a 325x50x15 on a 10" wheel. (The wheel just clears the shock mount by 1/8 inch)

Wow, that's great. What's the wheel set back? I am running 295/50 X 15 4-1/2 inch set back on a ten inch rim and cutting the tire just above the bead. On the ground I have about 2-1/2 inches of shock mount clearence.

A 15x10 wheel with 5.5" backspace will have you good to go.

Won't the deeper backspace place the tire closer to the shock and shock tower? I used 4-1/2 inch to move the tire in so as not to hit the upper lip of the fender well.

Clint, I'm one of the few fortunate ones who are running 5.75" of back-space on my 10" Rallys, and JUST missing hitting the lower shock mount (by maybe 1/8"!!! I guess I just got lucky?

The bottom line is that backspace works for you,Pat. That's good.
