What is the biggest tire (height and width) that will fit on the rear of my 69 chevelle? I want to fill as much of those wheel wells in the back as possible without rubbing.

I am running 295/50 X 15 4-1/2 inch set back on a ten inch rim and cutting the tire just above the bead. On the ground I have about 2-1/2 inches of shock mount clearence. TonyS Dec 27th, 05, 12:02 AM Won't the deeper backspace place the tire closer to the shock and shock tower? I used 4-1/2 inch to move the tire in so as not to hit the upper lip of the fender well.
