I just bought a 69 chevelle and amazingly it has only 23,600 miles. I am not sure of the value and if I should keep it as original as possible or forget about that and just do whatever I want with it.

Welcome aboard, Billybob! Glad to have another '69 owner here!

Tell us about your car a little...Malibu? SS? Anyway you slice it, they're all alot of fun.

More details will help us give you opinions about what WE might do with the car and what it might be worth. Bottom line, it's YOUR car, and you do what makes you happy with it.

Any plans? New paint or motor? Frame off?

Glad to have you here!

Welcome.Building mine the way i want to drive it.Keeping the look and paint original.About the only thing that will change is better tires, suspension, and more custom rims. From talking to people there all split on what they want. Some will only buy manual, some auto. Some custom some want total original. From what you say about yours, probably has original motor and transmission.I took mine out and put a different one in so could put back together that way if it goes to being a better way to sell if i ever do.But mine is a keeper perfect color.Teal blue metalic.

Welcome to the best Chevelle sight on the web! What condition is it in? I know you said it has only 24000 miles, but has it been stored inside, left sitting out in the elements, is it a rust bucket, etc.? Do you have any pics?

hey BB,
you know, like these guys are saying, it really comes down to what you want. if you are going to keep it, do it the way you want. why make decisions based on what someone else (next owner) might want? as a car purist, i would hate to see someone destroy the originality of a mint, low mile chevelle whether a super sport or a malibu. but that's your call. keep in mind if it's, for example, a malibu with a 307, PG auto, you aren't going to hurt the value of it to throw in a built 383/ TH400, it'll be worth more to most potential buyers. #'s matching really doesn't mean much in terms of dollars on malibus. it's kind of neat, but doesn't effect value. i like seeing clean malibus, i think they are cool. seems like damn near every one has been cloned, most of the time poorly, into SS cars.
good luck and enjoy your new car.
