I have used both rustoleum's rusty metal primer and gloss black with good results. Six years later, it's still rust free. I'm thinking about squrting a clear polyurathane on top of that as well next year.

Any car past 1972 is just simply transportation, really!

I am NOT an experienced painter.
But I sprayed some Martin Senour 5121 black epoxy primer, and really like the way it looks.
Affordable, good rust protection...
Give it a shot!

I did the steam clean with really high pressure system then used a blow gun and dried it off. The used Rustoleum's black paint on mine and it still looks great after 8+ years. I may rough it up and coat it with some Zerorust or POR-15 but thats after I am done with my other prodjects first.

POR-15 gets my Vote. It's the rhino bedliner of paints.

It's amazing, after all this time she still runs.
