Had to have a new windshield on my 70. It's made by some company called plinkerton or something like that. The sides didn't want to fit right, but the guy that I had do it knew what he was doing and got it all sealed up. He was really thorough, and checked the fit and seal over and over... He also said if it ever leaks he'll fix it free... Guy's been around for 25+ years, so I think I'm safe... :) Only cost $175...

Just though I'd let everyone else know, and also give this tip; do you're homework and get the right guy to do you're glass. I'm having this guy fix my Mustang because the idiot my insurance company used couldn't get it to stop leaking and just told me to live with it...

I need a windshield as well. Did you purchase the glass separately? Looking at your pix I figured you had the ultimate in airconditioning! I too have had mixed results with glass installers but it's not a skill I'm looking to acquire.

I asked around at body shops that work on older cars who's good at putting in glass and several people gave me his name. I called him up and told him what I had and what I wanted (antenna and tint...) and he came out to my shop with the glass. Glass was $175 installed.

Just make sure they're good at using the butyle. He used a heat gun to make it pliable and then used a plastic popsicle type thing to seal everything up. He made it look easy.

Good advise. Got a friend at the local body shop and will see who's the best in the area. My windshield has alot of sand pitting. Did not realize how pitted it was till driving into a setting sun. Great price too. I have a '55 DeSoto and glass is tough to find.
