Can anyone tell me a good place to find the front and rear glass (tinted front of course)for a 68 Chevelle? How much can I expect to pay for them, and the replcement labor cost? I live in the DC/Baltimore area. Thanks!

Most any glass shop should be able to get a windshield for you---probably spec order though. Dunno 'bout the rear glass. Expect to pay $30. installed for the w/s.

Thanks. I thought I'd have to get the glass from an old car supplier because this isn't straight glass I don't believe. And I expected to have to pay more than $30 for labor! That ain't bad! Is it difficult to take the stainless around the glass off? I've got loads of experience with door glass, vent wondows and regulators, but not the big glass. Thanks for any info you can give. Mark

The local glass shops can order correct replacement glass. I just had a windshield put in my 68 427 Biscayne and it was a little over 200. installed and it took a little over a week to get it, after the first one they got was wrong. They say usually overnight, but the Biscayne/Bel Air windshield is real low demand. If originality is a concern, I've bought winshields from OEM glass in Bloomington Ill. for years. There's come with the correct markings and date code for your car and they're A LOT pricier and take several weeks to get usually.

you can get a new tinted with or without antena from chery dale auto glass for about $120. i do not believe you can get the rear glass new. but it is the same as 68 to 72. you will have to pick that up used. i have a half dozen of them in my attic. if your interested email me. $50 plus shipping.
