I was talikng to the bodyman who is going to paint my car. He reccomended PPG BDC. I have no idea what that is. Can anyone give me the lowdown on this stuff?

It isn't BDC it is DBC and it is PPG base coat color. It is a widely used product and I have found it to be of the highest quality. Though PPG does have higher, DBC is one of there "older" base coat clear coat systems but well respected.
