Ok guys,
What your opinion?

I have a 72' convertible that I absolutely love the rear bumper on; I really think GM got it right with the round tailights.

But.......

I love the look of the 70' front clip with the dual headlights.

I want to swap out the front clip and make it look like a 70', while keeping the rear bumper of the 72.

Am I committing a chevelle "sin" here (and have to listen to a bunch of people ask what is it, which I'm sure would happen anyway.....), or is this an option that I could go ahead with?

Seen them before. The round tail lights and the double headlights are a good look. GM missed it with the single headlight in 71-72 in my opinion. I do have a friend with a 72 who does not like the 70 front end look, and I know a bunch of others who feel the same way.

You know it's funny about the Chevelle tail lights. 66,68,70 are small and squared off - 67,69 are bigger and odd shaped. Odd years I guess.

I think Hot Rod or Car Craft did this back in the late '90's, although I think they installed a 71-72 rear bumper onto a '70.

It looked pretty sweet.
