does anyone know if rechroming the plastic dash works? anyone done it? any sources for those that will do it? i read the earlier posting about the 70-72 dash hobby method.thanks chevelle lovers

They make repo dash panels now for the 65. I bought one last year. It looks real nice. The plastic chrome was done well. They sell now for about $125. Saw some in the annual Chevelle magazine Jan 2006 issue for that price. They are also on ebay all the time for buy it now that price.
My guess is rechroming yours will cost much more, but then again it will truly be original.

yeah, thats the problem, i have two originals, both solid items, but one has been painted and the other has poor chrome.i can get them redone for around $140.00 each or i can get a nice repo for alittle less.hummm, what to do?ha!ha!i think i'll get a repo and just hang on to the other ones.thanks!

actually, the repo fit pretty close to the orginal.i had 65 chevelles when i was a kid and they were pretty new still, and this repo shines better that the real orignal ones did!-thanks-guy johnson
