one from a newer car would even be the best. i want something that has cup holders and a high arm rest like the 70 cutlass had. the stock chevelle is too low for my taste and doesnt go up into the dash like i am thinking i want. i will be putting a hurst ratchet shifter up thru it and mounting my cd changer controls and cup holders and some other switches and things. has anyone seen some good after market ones or knows a factory console that fits good.

I am also interested in making a custom console. however a "hump hugger" might be what your looking for, do a search and it will be sure to come up. pretty cheap too, under a 100 bucks.

im starting to look for one too, Im thinking about buying a 4th Gen Trans Am console. my Tremec shifter is in the middle so i need something that's not off-set.. it seems to go under the dash too... but i'd still like to see if nayone else has done this or something close...
