Is there a generally preferred weatherstrip product out there?

I've had to rip off a recently installed aftermarket brand, but noticed that while Original had steel inserts, the aftermarket had none. Is this even an issue? Before I buy same again, I wanted to find what else might be better if anything? (The plastic push pins at the ends were also wrong size as the holes drilled in car are smaller on ends than they are along door perimeter, which meant I had to grind down the end push pins to get them to go in hole without breaking them.)

Has anyone ever used the Steel Rubber Products?

Any thoughts?

Metro Rubber, Hinshaws Chevelles has them if you can't find them anywhere else.
