I was asked this question tonight and I actually don;t know the answer to it. Are the doors on El Caminos and Station Wagons interchangable?

 I was always led to believe that the el camino and chevelle wagon were the same parts. Maybe I got some bad info too.

They may have been the same in `64-`65 when they made two door wagons but not for later years when all wagons were 4 doors. Like abodybill said, the El Camino doors are longer. Also, where the window frames on an El Camino are at an angle, the wagon (and sedan) window frames are straight.

Since the wagons after 65 are based on a 4 door configuration. The doors are naturally much shorter since it would have front and rear passenger doors. Since an El Camino is a 2 door configuration, It would have doors that are longer. So the doors themselves will not interchange.

Even the 64-65 2 door wagons and El Camino doors do not interchange. The frames around the windows are different.

Front fenders interchange, headlight doors interchange. Some of the floorpan sheet metal is the same also as the rear footwells for the wagon can be seen under the removable panel in the bed.
