In process of stripping all sound deadening material off my 1969 Chevelle floors. Some surface rust on floor pans and a few pencil size holes in the driver side floor pan. Looking at ordering the POR-15 floor pan and trunk restoration kit from their web site. Anyone use this before and did it provide good results? Suspect I can buy the products separately but suspect it may be a bit of cost savings to get the kit as a whole. Also does the POR-15 Marine Clean product work well as a degreaser with no residue left behind?

I think the repair kit works better for pin sized holes. If the holes are already pencil size (approx 1/4 inch in dia) then you may want to consider routing them out and welding in plugs. If the surrounding metal is still in good shape, that's the way I'd go, and use Por 15 to prevent future rust. But when using the repair kit, pin holes only is what the local distributor told me.

I just bought full half (each side) floor pans for mine. I took a class in welding and bought a welder because I figured I'd be doing a lot of metal replacing before it was over.

The pans fit so good it blew me away. When both are in there, there is only a few to a couple of inches left of original tunnel that the pans do not cover.

The cost for each was under $100. It's a long term fix that give piece of mind that it's done right.

My opinions are usually worth what they cost you. But once in a while I know what I am talking about. Humor, fun, a few new friends, and good ole knowledge of these classics are why I am here. Your mileage may vary. ACES # 04981
