Ok, I'm changing the parking brake cables on my 69 SS/ 4 speed. How the @#$$ do you get the cable out of the floor board area???

It has like a weird contraption on it to mount to the floor where the cable hooks onto the pedal arm. It seems to me you have to squeeze all those fingers together and then push it through the floor out the bottom. Does this sound right? I don't want to destroy it as it I plan on reusing it. From a donor car.
Thanks for the help.

You are correct in needing to pinch the fingers to get the through the floor. Try a socket of the right diameter pushing it down over or try pliers.

or try using a small hose clamp around it and tapping it through the hole.
Just dont tighten the hose clamp too much just enough to squeeze all the little tabs .
