i want to know if any of you have tried a toluene mix in your ls6's or at least a 11.25 to 1 compression engines. if so, how are you mixing, and with what grade.
also, does anyone know of any long term effects on my engine.
i have tried it this summer, and liked it, but it was expensive. at least 10 dollars a gallon.
my original issue as to why i am using it is because of knocking with aven 92 octane fuel. i have tried alot of fixes but cant get the knock out. except with toluene or av gas....
suggestions??

You don't need a toluene mix to run an LS6 on the street.
Most of the time, people end up with too much timing throttle at part throttle due to faultly mechanical advance or too much vacuum advance.
Limit your total timing (including base/mechanical) to 38* and it will run fine on pump gas
