I am ready to lift the body off the frame so I an get the frame stripped down and ready for paint. I have two questions. What are some good ideas that you have used for getting the body off the frame and storing it for awhile. Second question is should I have the frame powder coated? Once again thanks.

Welcome to this site and good luck with your project. Try the "search" function and you will find lots of different info. on lifting the body/storage,etc. Believe me, there probably isn't anything that hasn't been tried once!

I just swapped bodies and frames between 2 66's. With as much removed as possible ( doors, front clip, interior, trunk lid, etc.), I lifted the body using a cherry picker (engine hoist) through the door opening. A chain between outer front seatbelt bolts and another between 1 inner front and the opposite inner rear seatbelt bolts. A couple experimental pulls helped find a point that pulled all 4 points equally. A long bolt connecting chainlinks can shorten either chain accordingly.
You'll really want a friend to help pull the body away from the side. The body will be back heavy, one of you will have to lift the rear to clear the tires. I set the body on sections of railroad ties, blocks will work, even jackstands (put a piece of would on them). Think about where you want to support it, preferrably a location reinforced.
