My drivers side rocker panel is rusted away at the rear 10-12" and wanted to replace this entire piece. How do I remove that rocker panel ?
Thanks
You can see the area here sort of.....

Look at the new rocker and old rocker, you will see the attachment points along the floor, a pillar, quarter, wheelhouse. I usuall rough cut the panel close to these attachment areas with an airchisel. once most of the panel is chisled away you will have better access to drill the spotwelds out. Keep the body supported well during this operation as the rocker a major part of this vehicle's structure. some bracing may help. check the fit of your door to verify nothing has moved before welding.

Sounds to me like it can't be done without removing/replacing the quarter panel. That rocker will just have to be patched somehow, later on. graemlins/sad.gif

no, you can replace the rocker without butchering the quarter but it is indeed easier with the quarter removed. If you cut most of the rocker off you will have access to drill out the spotwelds. take the rocker out piece by piece being careful not to ruin the other panels. You can do it, judgeing from the picture the wheelhouse must also be in rough shape-so if that needs to be replaced you'll have even more access. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
