How do you remove the door glass from a 72 Elky? I managed to figure out the vent window removal but not the roll up glass. My shop or assembly manual does not cover this or I couldn't find it. I figure I might as well gut the doors and clean and paint them inside since I'm this far into it. They look good with minimal rust but I want to paint/undercoat them now to prevent future prolems.

It is a little bit tricky and my explanation will not really dazzle you. Once you unhook the regulator mechanism from the glass you have to rotate the glass so that it is turned about 90 degrees from the normal position. Also, put a couple layers of tape on the exterior paint of the rear part of the door frame so that the paint is not trashed (don't ask). The glass comes out by tilting to the outside of the car, at least that is how I did mine.

Thanks JW! I'll try that. Paint's not an issue now but it will be when I start putting things back together after painting. I guess I will go ahead and get a Fisher body manual before then.
