: Lunatic Fringe.........

I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
We can hear you coming
We know what you're after
We're wise to you this time
We won't let you kill the laughter

Lunatic Fringe
In the twilight's last gleaming
This is open season
But you won't get too far
We know you've got to blame someone
For your own confusion
But we're on guard this time
Against your final solution

We can hear you coming
(We can hear you coming)
No you're not going to win this time
We can hear the footsteps
(We can hear the footsteps)
Way out along the walkway
Lunatic Fringe
We know you're out there
But in these new dark ages
There will still be light

An eye for an eye
Well, before you go under
Can you feel the resistance
Can you feel the....thunder

In rememberance of John Lennon and Dimebag Darrel Abbot.

That's an interesting take on that tune. JN

I read the song was written right after Lennon's death, though I heard somewhere else the base track was recorded the same night he was gunned down in NY.

I was never a Pantera fan, but no way does anybody deserve to die at the hand's of a crazed fan, and still think Lennon is one of the most brilliant artists of all time. I hope he found the peace in death he had such a difficult time with in life. RIP. JN

That was Red Rider that performed that song. No I don't think they were a cover band.....I think they might've been a 1 hit wonder though.....Tom Cochran was the lead vocalist of the band....he went on to record "Life Is A Highway..." later on as a solo artist in '92.

Always been a fav-it was one of the 1st videos I remember seeing on 'Friday Night Videos' (That's before Mtv for you young folks). Guy has a bass without the string adjusters at the top, weird looking, good video!

That song makes me laugh... it sounds like he's making his guitar cluck like a chicken...

Named my Amphib Track Vehicle (Marine Corps AmTrac/Armored Assault Vehicle) after that song. Went into Somalia with the Amphib landing exactly 13 years ago today with that song piped into my crews intercom. Funny it should show up now.
:beers:

And yes, it is Red Rider. I taped it off the "Vision Quest" soundtrack, sorry, I'm a teenager of the 80's  Anyone listen to April Wine?

The 1st thing I thought of when I heard 'Lunatic Fringe' was Tom Cochrane. Yes, I also remember and love April Wine.

I still remember exactly where I was and how I felt when I heard about John Lennon back in 1980 on this date. He is still missed, rightfully so.

Great song, I think this was released on this album (http://www.tomcochrane.com/pages/discography/albums/asfarassiam.htm) (which is from Tom Cochrane's (http://www.tomcochrane.com/)website)

If you like this song, I highly recommend the album symphony sessions (http://www.tomcochrane.com/pages/discography/albums/symphonysessions.htm).

I remember the video for Life is a Highway. He was driving a red classic Impala convertible. I think it was a 65 or 66.
