Can't speak for quality of paint, but you definitely want something out of a spray gun.

The black paint goes to the trim mounting holes, no further. Once the upper and lower horizontal trim pieces are installed, you can't see the line.

It's semi-gloss black. No further than under the metal trim top and bottom, and it should, to be 100% anal correct, extend horizontally onto the taillight extensions to under the light bezels. Anything out of a spray can usually isn't BLACK black. It has a slight grayish tone to it. Best noticed in sunlight.

I Used flat black spray can paint and it looks like it was painted in the body shop. Just about everyone I know with chevelles does the same. Like I said looks perfect. Don't let everyone on this site scare you, they seem to be very good at that. Grab a can of good flat black spay paint and go to town. Scuff it a little with some scotch brite. Use short spays going back and forth. As long as you dont drip it will look fine. If you don't think it looks good it will end up in the shop anyway right. 2 cans of spray paint is a crap load cheaper than having a body shop spray it. Put the saved money into your motor or suspension smile.gif .

IF....... you use the rattle can, try Krylon Semi-flat black. Think it's #1613.

The better product to paint it with would be a single stage urethane. You will need to reduce it, add the hardener, and flattener. You don't need a body shop for this. Just a spray gun and a measuring cup. I painted all the semi gloss black on my cars this way, which included the rockers, firewall, bottom of the car, tail panels, etc. This will hold up better than any spray can paint which has no hardeners in it.

I painted all the semi-gloss black on mine with a $70 Sears spray gun and Dupont Centari Pitch Black acrylic enamel with flattener added. I've found spray bomb paint will fade fast when exposed to sun.
