I have a 69 chevelle malibu..nothing special but want to make the body as straight as possible...I have the drivers side door from a 68 chevelle
on my car and it just doesn't line up...the door is in good condition..I was wanting to know if there are any hinges I could use or adjustments I
could make to make this door line up right and close completely??? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

seems like a tough subject...anyone have any ideas???

Take a look at the home page of this site. I believe there is an interchange section for coupes, I know there is for El Camino.

The shape of the door is the same for both years but the 68 has a vent window. You can swap in 69 glass in it's place.

The doors are different in that the inside lock position was moved forward for 69. You would have to use a 68 door panel of find a way to change this.

I have used the glass on the 69...the glass when it is rolled up has a gap on the top about 1/2 inch which will let water in...the door sticks out a little on the outside, which means it sticks in on the inside and the interior panels don't line up completely, about a 3/4 inch gap, which is very noticeable..looks like the door isn't closed all the way...thanks for the tips so far..keep em commin!!!!

There is a stop inside the track that keep the window from coming up too far. Perhaps you can loosen and adjust it to come up further.

Not sure on the door gap. Could also just be an adjustment? I believe both doors are the same except the inside lock. (I could be wrong though)

There are alot of adjustments for doors. They can move forward and back, in and out, up and down.

If you still have your old 69 door, you could make some measurements just to be sure but im betting it's just in need of adjustment.
