Once I am done with the body prep, I will need to figure out what rear-end to use for the car. It will be a pro-touring car, so I can't spool it or anything like that, and I still want to be able to take it to the track every now and then. The car will have in the range of 1000hp, and a Jerico Road Race Tranny.

Am I right in thinking that the 12-Bolt under the car now won't be able to handle this type of power? The car may see slicks for drag. I am thinking I'll have to go with a Ford 9''??

A 9 inch Ford with 35 spline axles and a Detroit Locker will probably be best for you if you plan on using slicks. The 12 bolt should be fine for street use.
