I have a 70 SS with the gauges and the tach is only going up to 1,000 rpm and stops, it wouldn't go any higher. Sometimes it sticks there? Does anyone know what could be wrong? Any help would be great!!

SS4speed Dec 1st, 05, 6:37 PM If I where to guess, I would expect that something on the printed circuit board has a problem. Or it could be you have a broken wire going to the back of the cluster. On the 69 they have three or four wires going back there, on is the 12 volts. Maybe one of the wires has just come loose. I would like to find a place where I could get a schematic for mine. So far, I have been unable to locate one. Fred. Elree Colby Dec 2nd, 05, 10:00 AM You likely have something inside the tach movement that's attached to the magnet. The tach can be taken apart so that the unwanted object can be removed. Just be careful as the tach movement is very delicate. |
