I replaced my wiper motor with a rebuilt unit. Now when the wiper motor is in the park position the wipers are straight up and down actually with the l.h. wiper touching the windshield chrome.There is a keyway on the wiper arm so it can only be installed one way. Here is a photo of the wiper in the park position. Can someone verify whether the keyway is in the correct position(facing up when parked? Could this be a problem with the new motor parking wrong? Thats exactly what the problem is, atleast, thats what mine was.

I tried spinning it around but it the linkage hits up in the cowl before the arm will go onto the motor. It will only go on one way. :confused: Anyone have a good pic of the motor and arm in the parked position?

Its definitely the short arm on the back of the motor that's off by 180 degrees. It should be pointing to the driver's side when parked. You said you tried spinning it around but then encountered linkage alignment problems. Check the ends of the linkage where the wiper arms attach. Do both sides have all three mouting bolt holes lined up correctly? If not, they could be the cause of the alignment problem.

I lightened up the photo and now you can see the arm is pointing toward the passenger side in the parked position.All mounting bolts are in correctly. If the arm should be pointing toward driver side when parked it must be 180 off and i will have to investigate the interference.I took the transmission out to look it over yesterday and it looked fine.
