I was all set on the 2004r transmission for my 71 nomad but after i found out how much it will cost to tune it to handle the power of the 454 i have in it, i decided on the 700r4. the only thing im wondering is if i can change the gearing on it i dont like the 3.06 first gear would like around a 2.75 first gear. is this possible? if so will it hurt the trans, make it weaker towards the power of the 454, or will it not run right because of this? Any info would help im at the end of my rope with transmissions, and am about to go with a manual insted. thanks
