My car did not have a headliner in it and I purchased one with all the bows. My question is what order do the bows go in? They are color coded and the headliner has numbers. I can't go by what came out since there was nothing. This is a 2 door coupe by the way.

Given your situation, I would measure the span between each side the bow goes into and match them up accordingly. If the 71 is like my '68, then you'll have a choice of 3 holes at each side for each bow.

I want to put mine in but i can't seem to get the bows thru the holes on the headliner.......

I think part of the hassle is that that there is a selelction of holes the bows can go into. The idea is to see which set they came out of, and put them back there. I did mine and it came out OK, but not exactly perfect, 1 or 2 wrinkles near the back. Here is a link to a post about how to do it.

I will check my 'velle and figure out which holes the factory bows are in for ya? But I am sure it varies with the headliner installed, what day it was, etc..
