Ok I bought a 70 Chevelle Malibu. The previous owner painted the car with 2 tones of Home Depot house paint, brushed on and everything. So i tried using aircraft stripper in a can to strip the car, but it takes about 1 can of stripper to do one fender. Is there another type of paint stripper that can do the job without breaking the pocketbook? I did get to the metel in 1 section of the fender and i counted 7 different coats of paint. So i need some potent stuff! Thanks

What kind of stripper, how and where are you applying it? The first thing is tape over seams brush on stripper cover with a wax paper to keep soft. Let it sit and bubble paint free, old stripper can be reapplied. Keep a tarp under area that is being stripped. Stay out of direct sunlight, use plastic scrapers, and wear gloves and goggles.

It's a good idea to wear a respirator too!
