i just finished reading chassis engineering by herb adams for the second time and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for books on this subject. i want to know as much as possible about suspensions and how they react so if anyone has something good let me know.

I was at a classic car parts dealer today and they had this magazine called "how to build a GM protouring car" by Tony Huntimer.
I was loking throught it and it looked pretty informative. Has any one read it? It is worth the $16?

Go over to www.pro-touring.com (http://www.pro-touring.com). Its his site, he is there and will help you anyway he can. He is a good guy and you can probably buy the book direct from him.

Though not directly related to cars, "motorcycle design and technology" is a great read.

Can't remember the Aprilia engineer's name that wrote the book, but becareful if you do pick it up as some of the italian to english translation can get weird. Once you figure it out you're good to go.

Ahhh, here's the cover:

Well, he hangs out there a lot but it's not "his" site. Larry Callahan owns it and Ralph LaGrasso helps with administrator duties.

How to P-T is a good book.

Also good reading on suspension design are "How to Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn, "Engineer to Win" by Carroll Smith, "Competiton Car Suspension: Design, Construction, Tuning" by Allan Staniforth, "Race Car Engineering and Mechanics" by Paul Valkenburg, and "Street Stock Chassis Technology" by Steve Smith Autosports.
