RE: 1969 Chevelle: Are the hood hinges for an SS hood the same as the hood hinges for a regular (flat) hood?

You have to have 69 hood hinges for a 69 hood. You do have to change the springs so you dont bend your chevelle hood in half. Good luck.. ss396boy Oct 30th, 01, 8:45 AM i bought some aftermarket ones and they are total JUNK. I am debating whether or not to return them and get something from the junk yard. Plus, they say MADE IN TAIWAIN, who wants that on a classic? Dean Oct 30th, 01, 4:38 PM some may already know this because I've posted it several times but It is very easy to make 69 hinges out of 70-72 hinges all you need to do is use a 69 hinge for a template to scribe around and cut the hook off the back, file it down a little and you can't tell it was ever done | ||
