Hi , I know this is paint code " D " . However , when paint store made up a sample pint through the use of a computer program. I ended up with a very very silvery blue which converted to a present " HUMMER " blue. Has anyone had this same problem trying to get the correct shade of " NANTUCKET BLUE " If so what do I have to do to get this correct paint Rsvp Thanks , Frank

What brand of paint are they mixing?

When we painted our nantucket blue 67, I remember the paint (Dupont) looking very silvery as well, but not sure if the Hummer color will match up.

I have had this problem with ppg paint not matching well with old codes. The distributor had to go to the lowest tier of BC to get even close, and even then...not close in my opinion. Believe it was OMNI line. I only use Dupont now, paintmatch system is perfect. Dot, I am sure you know this but the double letter code is identifying upper and lower as seperate entities, so only one is needed when ordering paint. JN

My 67 Chevelle SS was painted Nantucket Blue (Dupont), the Dupont paint number was 5763K.
It also has somewhat of a silvery look also. I hope this helps.

I had my "D" coded '67 Malibu painted last year in a BC/CC...the local paint supply shop mixed up Sikens using an older book they had. Matched to original great!

it is a base coat clear coat.

yes it is base coat / clear coat ....we had a sample mixed today of PPG / Omni base coat It's close .....Maynard do you have any pictures of your car using the Dupont Paint ?? If so email me them at class72@comcast.net Thanks Frank

Some of those light blues will look very silvery until the clear is applied.
